HOME INSURANCE Designed to protect your home against damages to the house itself or to possessions in the home. Home insurance also provides liability coverage against accidents in the home or on the property. ______________________________________________________________________ COVERAGE Property - Home Insurance provides coverage for damage to your home and separate structures (such as a detached garage) typically caused by wind, fire and vandalism (subject to limitations and exclusions). Extended Replacement Cost coverage is available in some states. Types of Properties - Coverage is available for many different types of properties and/or situations. Coverage is comprehensive including many types of damage and broad causes of loss (subject to exclusions). RENTER'S INSURANCE Perhaps you are not buying a house and you are only 'renting a place'. No problem, coverage is available. Renter's Insurance provides coverage for your belongings and liability within a rental property. Renter's insurance applies to renting or subletting a single-family home, apartment, duplex, condo, studio, loft or townhome. Renter's insurance, while sometimes required by a landlord, is generally optional at tenant's discretion. Also, since often the landlord has insurance, it may seem that renter's insurance may be an unjustifiable expense. In some cases this might be true but in others not.
